报告人简介: Dr. Zheng is an internationally-recognised researcher in the area of traffic flow modelling and control theory, autonomous vehicle systems, and data-driven approaches for transport studies. Dr. Zheng holds a PhD degree at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL, 2010-2014), Postdoc Research at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETHZ, 2014-2016), then an Associate Professor (2016-2018) at the School of Transportation Engineering and Technology, Beihang University.

One research direction of Dr. Zheng’s group is well-known to apply the Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram (MFD) to traffic flow modelling, transport network design, demand management policies, and real-time traffic monitoring and control in large-scale road networks. In this presentation, Dr. Zheng will provide an overview of the MFD model, a shammed of his works in this direction, and provide details on the most recent works, including a percolation-based congestion characterisation and the application to network control, and an MFD- and region-flow-dynamic-based OD estimation.
